Waiakea Water Continues Steps to Lessen Carbon Footprint

The world of bottled water is highly competitive, but the players are often simply using gimmicks to set themselves apart and try to gain market share. Waiakea Water is one of the fastest growing companies in the United States and it isn’t due to gimmicks, but a superior product and a company that is working hard to give back to the world. Waiakea Water is sourced from an aquifer in Hawaii where the water is naturally purified through volcanic rock providing some of the purest Hawaiian volcanic water in the world. But, the company doesn’t stop at good pure water, they work hard to be an excellent corporate citizen.

From the beginning Waiakea Water has helped the community in which they source their water by giving resources to families in need. Over the years as the company has grown they have continued to give back as much as they can. For every bottle of water sold they provide a weeks worth of clean drinking water to communities in need. They have also partnered with PumpAid to help provide a source for clean drinking water to communities that need them. This effort to help not just in the here and now, but also to try and make the future better is also reflected in Waiakea Waters’s efforts to be environmentally friendly and continually reduce their carbon footprint. The bottles are made out of post-recycled bottles, but their new initiative aims to also make those bottles biodegradable. They are the first to add a component to their bottles that will help them biodegrade 97% faster than the average water bottle. The companies CEO Ryan Emmons hopes that this will encourage other bottle companies to follow suite. Waiakea water is a truly unique company as they aim to help their fellow humans and the earth today and into the future.
